Euro-Culture: open doors in the European Union


The concept is a communication tool, the purpose of which is to increase the European citizens “desire for Europe” and “desire for the euro”.

The exhibition and the game reinforce the cultural diversity of the states of the EU and the unity of the common heritage; links and connections have been established between countries whenever possible in order to revive with European culture and knowledge of the European citizens.

The exhibition and a game about European Union:  An European cultural communication for:

  • local and European collectivities and institutions,
  • schools, colleges,
  • associations, foundations, entreprises.

The exhibition and a game Euro-Culture was labelised in 2008 by the French Presidency of the European Union with the direct support of the Ministry of Culture, the State Secretary of European Affairs and the Hippocrene Foundation.

The exhibition and the game Euro-Culture in the Quai d'Orsay, during European Heritage-Days 2008.

The exhibition explaining symbols of Euro requires around 20 meters.
The componants are
:

  • 16 boards (0,50  mm x 2 m), one for each country, which display national sides of coins,
  • 3 boards for Monaco, San Marino, Vatican,
  • 2 boards (1m x 2m ) with the notes’ designs,
  • 3 explanatory boards (1mx 2m) on Europe and euro and one for the title.

A game for 15 to 99 year olds “general public” presented as a  pedagogical kit

The board game includes questions on:

  • European Institutions
  • Greater Europe
  • Countries in the European Union
  • Cultural heritage conveyed by the designs on euro banknotes and  euro coins

In 2008:  the Association "Promouvoir l'Euro-Culture" was created to support the development of the Euro-Culture concept.
