The Netherlands design for euro coins

1 and 2 euros The NetherlandsQueen Beatrix

All the national sides of the Dutch euro coins bear the likeness of Queen Beatrix. The text reads “Beatrix, Koningin der Nederlanden”, or Beatrix, Queen of the Netherlands. These words are engraved vertically on the one and two euro coins, as are the symbols of the Utrecht engraving workshop and the workshop’s director. On the cent coins, the design features many scattered dots around the head of the Queen which is circled by the twelve stars of the European Union.
